Pamiętaj o KONSTRUKCJI "THERE IS / THERE ARE":

Używamy aby powiedzieć CO ISTNIEJE / GDZIE COŚ JEST.

Forma	Z czym?	Przykład
there is	singular + uncountable	There is a cat in the garden. / There is milk in the fridge.
there are	plural	There are five books on the shelf.

SKRÓTY:

• there is → there's
• there are → there're (rzadko używane na piśmie, częściej w mowie)

PYTANIA:

• ✅ Is there a problem?
• ✅ Are there any chairs in the room?

PRZECZENIA:

• ✅ There is not / isn't a doctor here.
• ✅ There are not / aren't any apples.

PRZESZŁOŚĆ — there was / there were:

PRZYSZŁOŚĆ — there will be:

• ✅ There will be a meeting tomorrow.
• ✅ There won't be any food after 10 p.m.

MODAL — there can/must/should/may + be:

• ✅ There must be a mistake.
• ✅ There could be problems.

PERFECT — there has been / there have been:

• ✅ There has been an accident. (singular)
• ✅ There have been changes. (plural)

Pamiętaj o KLUCZOWYCH PUŁAPKACH:

1. There is / there are zależy od pierwszego rzeczownika po nim:

• ✅ There is a cat and two dogs. (a cat = singular)
• ✅ There are two dogs and a cat. (two dogs = plural)

2. There + niepoliczalny zawsze "is":

• ✅ There is sugar in the coffee.
• ✅ There is information about the meeting.
• ❗ "Information, advice, news" są niepoliczalne!

3. NIE myl z "they are":

• ❌ They are 5 chairs in the room. (błąd, "they" = oni/one)
• ✅ There are 5 chairs in the room. (są)

4. "There is no" / "There isn't any" — oba poprawne:

• There is no milk. / There isn't any milk.
• There are no apples. / There aren't any apples.

5. Klasyczny błąd: "It is" vs "There is":

• ❌ It is a problem. (potoczne, ale nie określa istnienia)
• ✅ There is a problem. = istnieje problem.
• It — gdy rozmawiamy o czymś konkretnym (pogoda, czas, etc.)
• There — gdy podajemy NOWĄ informację o istnieniu
